In honour of Women's Month, we dedicated this project to the brave Iranian women in solidarity for the ongoing revolution in Iran. On September 16th, 2022 Mahsa Amini died in the hospital after being arrested by Iran's Morality Police for wearing her hijab "improperly"and being beaten inside of a police van. Iranians soon began protesting, calling for accountability and an end to the regime's violence and oppression. Woman Life Freedom, was a slogan which was chanted during Amini's funeral that soon became a rallying symbol of resistance against the violent and misogynistic regime that oppresses the women of Iran.
The revolution in Iran is a response to the decades of oppression, gender apartheid, and inequity. This project pays tribute to the global action in solidarity with Iranian women who are courageously fighting for their fundamental human rights. To the Iranian women and their allies, we will continue to support you and stand for justice, fairness and equality for you and all women, all life and all freedom.
